3. Yeah, yeah
We strongly suspect I am ADD. In my school days I was called a "daydreamer," that's a pretty good description. I have work to do now, but I'll prolly keep hanging around here for a couple more hours. . .

I'm sure not hyperactive, though.

No hyperactivity, just disorganization and forgetfulness. It's hard.

26. I'll bet that's really difficult for a non-ADDer to live with....
Edited on Thu Mar-08-07 09:47 PM by Zookeeper
Although my #1 son is the only one officially diagnosed, I'm pretty sure both my DH and I have ADD and my two other kids definitely have issues with organization, but manage to get by somehow.

Our home is, um, "lively." :scared:

29. I have 3 sons that were diagnosed
2 were/are ADHD -(act out); one is ADD (the spacey type - no acting out)
It runs in my family, as all my nephews have also been diagnosed.
I only have 2 nieces and I don't think they were diagnosed.
I am probably ADD and I suspect strongly that my ex was also.
The disorganization and forgetfulness with my youngest drives me insane!!!
But I love him! He tries really hard to overcome the LD that come with ADD.
But I can never find anything in my kitchen when he empties the dishwasher!
All my gadgets always are misplaced. lmao! Takes me awhile just to make pasta!
Organization isn't everything, I've learned. But it still drives me nutz! ;)

24. Well in that case, count me in!

Hi Taverner!

My son has ADHD and borderline autism.

My SO has ADD but will never admit it-never.

In my house you can ask someone a question
but it will take up to five minutes to get an answer.

:hi:

I'm not ADD/ADHD- but side effects of meds sometimes would have those who don't know me well believe otherwise...

16. I've never been officially diagnosed
but I believe I have ADD.

It was more severe when I was a child but my mom just let it take it's course and used a good balance of discipline and love to help me through it. She never put me on any drugs or anything like that.

But I believe I do have ADD. I just learned how to deal with it.

17. I'm pretty sure I have ADD....
As my eldest son was being diagnosed with it, I started recognizing it in myself. When I remember my school years I'm even more certain.

Neither my son or I have much of the hyperactive component. (We're both energetic, though.)

19. ADHD here
what a wild ride sometimes, but don't know anything else than the way I am. Back when I was in school, us ADHD were not diagnosed as such, we were just "rambuncious" and "high spirited", and the teacher just dealt with us, didn't send us to the counselor for Ritalin referral.
