And man, was that a pointless piece of crap. I have zero interest in this show.

And am I the only one who thinks it's really sad that anyone would want to serve a greedy, amoral, ruthless creep like Donald Trump? Or to emulate him, for that matter?

1. The contestants on that show....
are the type of people who would want to work for Trump.

How does Trump make a small fortune?

2. he and brother given 20 mil by dad - brother lost his - Trump conned banks
with loans they could not call or risk reserve problems - so he went 200 million negative wealth - and waited for inflation to save him - and it did.

but I like the 20 million coming of age gift!

8. Worse than that, even.
The banks basically conned themselves, giving him much more rope than they would give most other developers. Even when he had no properties actually showing a profit except the lobby of Trump Tower and one hotel someone else was running. The airline was first to go when he couldn't get bailed out after he screwed it up, but the rest they were hung on.

Over the years, he got thoroughly skunked over Resorts, moving NBC out of Rockefeller Center, the West side railyard deal, and countless other projects he promoted. Merv Griffin wiped his ass over Resorts, and ended up with the cash while Trump "won" with a bunch of losing casinos and a mountain of debt.

So he goes belly up and they are sitting on a billion or two of bad loans. He had to to go to the rest of the family and beg them for 500 mill to get the banks off his back or lose everything. Must have been a real interesting holiday gettogether that year.

Last I heard, which was a while ago, the banks forced him to hire the retired CFO of GE, who knows a lot more about money than Trump does, to micromanage all of little Donny's projects. The Donald, master of the deal, had to go to him for approval of all deals and projects. Most were, of course, turned down.

He's a putz in the same league as the G. W. Bush school of management excellence.

I am proud to announce that my streak of NOT watching any reality shows is alive and well.

4. I watched the whole thing
and I won't be watching it again. Sorry, I just don't think sending a bunch of good-looking women in bustiers and tank tops out to sell lemonade against a bunch of average looking guys in black suits is a realistic or challenging business exercise. And I don't like ANY of those people - especially the boss. Creepy!

6. I'm So Proud Of Myself...
Thanks for letting us know what you thought. I'm glad that you were able to confirm my suspicions.

As you might have guessed, I didn't bother to watch it. But it's good to know that my impressions of the show (based solely on the hype) was right on-target.

(Please forgive my boasting, I'm so rarely correct on these things and often get suckered-in by the hype... until I actually SEE the first show... take "Scare Tactics" for instance.)

I'm sorry you had to endure that.

7. Reality show producers just don't seem to get it:
YOU NEED GENUINE, LIKEABLE PEOPLE. If I wanted to watch of bunch of hateful sycophants whore themselves out for camera time and a paycheck, I'd watch network news.

I liked the first Survivor. Colleen was cute and likeable.

9. I watched it . . .
but then I'm the type of guy who's attracted to train wrecks . . . frankly, I couldn't picture any one of those people running a Mickey D's franchise, never mind a major corporation . . . where the hell did they find these jerks? . . . the other thing I found amusing was that the women, unlikeable though most of them are, seem to have a lot more on the ball than the men . . . doubt that I'll tune in again except maybe for an occasional moment of mindless amusement . . . I love it when self-important idiots make asses of themselves before an audience of millions . . .

11. Watched about 15 minutes.
That was enough.

The sight of The Donald's tacky, gold-encrusted digs was enough to put your eyes out. Not to mention the racoon sitting on his forehead.
