8. you're just a sore loser.
:P

And we're closer to I-85 than 95, doncha know?

AND it's NOT a Buzzsaw - it's a HURRICANE.

(I hated the name/logo too when they unveiled it. I was there when they introduced the team to RALEIGH. My older son was like 1 or 2 yo.... he's definitely a Caniac at 13!)

One of the worst things about moving from Raleigh was leaving the 'Canes. :( I had to pay for Center Ice so we can watch the games. But it's just not the same, ya know?

Lieberman? I could see that...

Bertha K. posted a pic of The Devil Incarnate, in her customary Earthly guise as Tennessee Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt-Head. And now this :eyes:

2. Yes.
But all the ridiculous rule changes and pussifcation of the game is making it harder and harder to watch. Bettman must die.

The Stanley Cup playoffs are still untouchable by any sport.

I loved it. I'll still watch it on TV, but it really is a sport to see live.

12. Hell, yes!
That was the only sport we attended as a family when I was a kid. It was to see the Pittsburgh Hornets (pre Penguins team). Still enjoy the game here in Houston now, but the ticket prices are getting out of hand.

where my Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Calgary Flames for the Cup. It was one of the great experiences of my life.

a whole hockey game, start to finish. When the Tampa Bay Lightning played for the Stanley Cup a couple or three years ago. We used to live in Tampa. Tampa Won !

25. been a fan since i was a kid...
My dad took me to my first minor-league game when i was 8... I learned to play the game as an adult, and helped found an all women's team in NC in '94.

My first 'season tickets' for ANY team EVER were purchased for the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) in 1995.

The first NHL games i ever attended were during the 'Canes first season in Greensboro. I think i still have the puck i got from Trevor Kidd at the first open practice that year, too.

Also, any sporting event is better seen in person than on TV.

27. I liked it a lot better before they screwed with the OT rules
There's absolutely nothing wrong with a tie hockey game during the regular season. Five minutes of overtime was plenty. Then they started screwing with the overtime rules, like skating 4 on 4 and then instituting the penalty shot, and I lost at least 50% of my interest. At least that crap won't ruin the playoffs.

a lot more action than football or baseball, and unlike basketball hockey is supposed to be a contact sport.

Lately I patronize only college hockey. But here in the heart of Hockey East, there's nothing wrong about that.

35. All we need now is an NHL Franchise.
Edited on Thu Mar-01-07 07:33 PM by JonathanChance
I know what would happen if I ever become a billionaire. I'd buy the Dallas Stars, Move them to either Madison (pending a renovation to the Kohl Center) or Milwaukee, rename them the Wisconsin NorthStars, (Old Logo, Old colors, the whole nine inches) and then prepare to become to become the most hated man in Minnesota.

You have to admit it would be a fierce rivalry, right up there with Boston and the Habs.

It would be good for a lot of regional rivalries, Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota.

Heck just bring the Penguins to Wisconsin once they get bought out. It's not like they're doing anything in Pittsburgh.

Even in Detroit, so-called Hockeytown, sports radio hosts go right from Football, to basketball, to spring training, to football.

33. I assume you mean NHL Hockey
I answered no because I hate the NHL.

I love minor league hockey that I can watch live and in person. Other than a big-time college football game, a minor league playoff game has the best atmosphere in sports.

STUPID name as "The Mighty Ducks."
