Why the hell is my cat trying to tear into the birdseed bag?
WTF? I had it double bagged and she's chewed through both!

She plays fetch with hair bands, eats dry dog food, and now the birdseed?!?!1111??

How much am I going to have to spend on therapy?

1. I'm betting the birdseed was
stored in a grain silo before packaging, and some parts of it were exposed to rodent urine. That's actually fairly common, and it powerfully interesting to cats.

6. Is the therapy for you or the cat?
The charge is lower for a cat -- smaller head to shrink.

Something about inherent and persistent curiosity. :)

13. is she a hunter?
I figure she is releasing some birdseed to the ground to bring the birds who go after it into hunting range. I used to have one of those clear birdseed dispensers with multiple perches out on my roof deck and I found that the birds were quite competitive for the roosts, pitching each other off. The process spilled a fair bit of seed and the birds who couldn't claim a roost ate off the roof. I found my cat hiding under the wooden deck just adjacent to the spill area waiting by what amounted to a bait station. He was alarmingly successful before I figured it out.
