a song: Right Wing Geek
Edited on Thu Jan-08-04 11:41 AM by cryofan
Sung to the tune of Fred Blassie's "Pencil Neck Geek":

Back when I was a kid, life was going swell.
Till something happened, blew every thing to hell.
That night my daddy stumbled in, all pale and weak,
Said "A woman up the block just gave birth to a Right Wing geek."

Mom said, "Sell it to the circus, what the heck."
Dad said, "Nope, this one's a pencil neck.
And if there's one thing lower than that Rush Limbaugh freak,
It's a Bush-lovin', Limbaugh Listenin', Right Wing geek."

You see if you take a pencil that won't hold lead,
Looks like a pipe cleaner atached to a head,
Add a buggy whip body with a brain that leaks,
You got yourself a FR-reading Right Wing geek.

(chorus)
Right Wing geek, Bush-Lovin' freak,
Limbaugh Listenin' ditto head with a lousy physique.
He's a one man, no gut, losing streak.
Nothin' but a Right Wing geek.

Soon the Right Wing geeks were poppin' up all over town.
You couldn't hardly sneeze without knockin' one down.
After a nice juicy steak, if you need a toothpick,
Just reach for a Right Wing geek, they'll do the trick.

One day we cut one up for fish bait.
Learned our lesson just a little bit late.
Soon as the Right Wing geek hit the drink, the water turned red.
Next day, sure enough, all the fish were dead.

chorus

Most any night you know where I can be found.
Yeah, stomping some RightWing geek's head into the ground.
So keep the faith, 'cause in DU you can trust,
I won't give up 'til the last right wing geek bites the dust.

chorus

They say, "these RightWing geeks come a dime a dozen."
I'm lookin' for the guy who's supplyin' the dimes.
Its gonna be real hard times for all of these
Bush lovin',
Limbaugh Listenin',
GOP voting',
FR readin',
glue sniffin',
scab pickin',
butt scratchin',
sleezy,
smelly,
dirty, lousy, rotten, stinkin', freaks.
Nothing but a Right Wing geek

4. More of a spoken word thing, like Burl Ives on steroids.
I first heard the song about 25 years ago.

I know that Freddie Blassie didn't blossom in Pop Culture until the movie, My Dinner with Blassie, which was only about 10 years ago, I think.

But the song had kind of a "Big Rock Candy Mountain"-type feel to it. I think that the Chorus had some background harmony (think cowboys sitting around a campfire).

I also remember that Blassie goes off into a rant at the end, which is when he says "I'll kick your grandmother for a field goal. They'll be calling her Grunhilda!!!" Whatever that's supposed to mean.

It was one of those "specialty" songs that we "Art-Stoners" used to like to play in order to shock and amuse our friends.
