WEB GURU HELP!!!!!!! (swore I'd never do that!)
Here's my problem. I need (REALLY IMPORTANT!) to download/capture the entire contents of a message board. What FREEWARE program might be able to do this???

The site is :

www.dems17.org/board.htm

If one of you wonderful wizards could gimme a hint as to something that could do this, I'd love ya forever!!!

I need it in ANY format...

Help me Obi-Wan Kinobe, you're my only hope...

4. I'm an Xp Pro user... (sorry...)
I do have the mainboard for a Linux box, but need to get more parts.

I need to do this tonight, before it gets wiped in the morning.

Someone who has stalked me and my girlfriend for 3 years (long story, there are some details on that site) has filed a complaint with the Board of Elections locally accusing me of FELONY voter fraud. What did I do?

I circulated a petition for a friend. I am a registered voter in this county, have been since 1998 when I moved back from Minneapolis. I've travelled extensively since, but maintained a residence, driver's license and car tags. I voted here in the last election.

You think politics is a contact sports in your town? This is Jim Traficant's district!!!

6. Thanks a million!!!!
It's a crazy story, but this guy's been a REAL stalker!!! He posted my address as a crack house online, he's called friend's places of employment and attempted to get them fired (there are tapes). He emailed me once and the SubSeven trojan was on the email! He somehow had my telephone bugged, I had a conversation, drove from Ohio to Indiana, and the next morning the text of the converstion was posed online!

Welcome to MY world. I'm active in local politics, and this is how it's played. And it's a Dem district by over 80% and I'm a DEM!!!

Thanks again, that's why DU is such a GREAT place!!!

8. Thanks again!!!
If you want to get a feel for politics Youngstown-style, take a peek at some of the posts. On that site, I'm using the name AMERIKA. Crazy place. Media read it all the time...

That is a slick pgm. Is the windoze version a pain to set up? I know what I'm doing (most of the time), and I'm really working on a linux box. I've got an old AMD 1.4gig with 512meg on it, I assume that's enough to get started. My XP box is a p-4ht @ 3gig with 2 gig, 2 hispeed drives and a RAID for video.

Now I'm just rambling...

Thanks again!!!

9. My *top-end* box is an athlon 1.4 ghz with 512meg!
Firewall is an old 300mhz pentium.

I haven't used wget on a windows box for a while -- I was desparate at work one time.

For example to get that site on linux I did:

wget -r -l 2 www.dems17.org/board.htm

-r means recursive
-l 2 means go 2 levels deep into recursion.

It's a little harder to do that on the windows version, you have to set up a batch file of some sort. It took me 10 or 15 minutes to figure it out after some fiddling around.

Cheers!

10. WinHTTrack
http://www.httrack.com/

Free, open-source, works nice.

Takes a little work to learn it all, but being motivated, I'd say you would be ready to go in about two hours. Maybe less.

Have at it!
