For Valentines Day: Dedicate a Song to the Bush Administration
My dedication:

Won't Get Fooled Again - by The Who
Know Your Rights - by The Clash
American Idiot - Green Day

What song would you like to dedicate to the Bush administration

2. Masters of War
"Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead"

Love the cover of this Pearl Jam did in the 90's for the Dylan tribute album

17. Hell yes.
 The first time I heard this song (about 2 1/2 years ago), it freaked me out so much because of its relevance. :scared: Brilliant song, though - Bob Dylan is a genius. (And I like Pearl Jam's version, too.) :)

30. Yup gotta luv him
Still at this point, I'd question the qualification of "masters" when they are nothing more than apparent bunglers of war.

At this point in our still new millennium, I seriously doubt that wars are winnable ever anymore.

Wish they'd get the memo sooner not later. Time will tell.

I'll keep prayin' is all.

Fuckin' awesome! That was easily the highlight of the show.

4. Crazy Train - theme song for this administration's reign
Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne

Crazy, but thats how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe its not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Lifes a bitter shame
Im going off the rails on a crazy train

Ive listened to preachers
Ive listened to fools
Ive watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you have the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
Im going off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeh-h

Heirs of a cold war
Thats what weve become
Inheriting troubles Im mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
Im living with something that just isnt fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and whats to blame
Im going off the rails on a crazy train

9. I'd go with "Death On Two Legs" by Queen.
You suck my blood like a leech
You break the law and you preach
Screw my brain till it hurts
You’ve taken all my money
And you want more
Misguided old mule with your pig headed rules
With your narrow minded cronies
Who are fools of the first division
Death on two legs
You’re tearing me apart
Death on two legs
You’ve never had a heart of your own
Kill joy bad guy big talking small fry
You’re just an old barrow boy
Have you found a new toy to replace me?
Can you face me?
But now you can kiss my ass goodbye
Feel good are you satisfied?
Do you feel like suicide?
(I think you should)
Is your conscience all right
Does it plague you at night?
Do you feel good feel good?

You talk like a big business tycoon
You’re just a hot air balloon
So no one gives you a damn
You’re just an overgrown schoolboy
Let me tan your hide
A dog with disease
You’re the king of the ’sleaze’
Put your money where your mouth is
Mister know-all
Was the fin on your back
Part of the deal? (shark)
Death on two legs
You’re tearing me apart
Death on two legs
You’ve never had a heart (you never did) of your own
(right from the start)
Insane you should be put inside
You’re a sewer rat decaying in a cesspool of pride
Should be made unemployed
Then make yourself null and void
Make me feel good I feel good

Originally written with Freddy Mercury's lawyer in mind, I think it suits the Clown Prince and his entourage of thugs.

6. War Pigs
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of deaths construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
As the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
All right now!

11. Alice Cooper, "Go To Hell."
For criminal acts and violence on the stage
For being a brat
Refusing to act your age
For all the decent citizens you've enraged
You can go to Hell
For gambling and drinking alcohol constantly
For making us doubt our parents authority
For choosing to be a living obscenity
You can go to Hell
You're something that never should have happened
You even make your Grandma sick
You'd poison a blind man's dog and steal his cane
You'd gift-wrap a leper
And mail him to your Aunt Jane
You'd even force-feed a diabetic a candy cane
You can go to Hell
You're something that never should have happened
You even make your Grandma sick
For criminal acts and violence on the stage
For being a brat
Refusing to act your age
For all the decent citizens you've enraged
You can go to Hell

20. Frank Zappa - "When The Lie's So Big"
Edited on Tue Feb-13-07 01:42 PM by EOO
They got lies so big
They don't make a noise
They tell 'em so well
Like a secret disease
That makes you go numb

With a big ol' lie
And a flag and a pie
And a mom and a bible
Most folks are just liable
To buy any line
Any place, any time

When the lie's so big
As in Robertson's case,
(That sinister face
Behind all the Jesus hurrah)

Could result in the end
To a worrisome trend
In which every American
Not "born again"
Could be punished in cruel and unusual ways
By this treacherous cretin
Who tells everyone
That he's Jesus' best friend

When the lies get so big
And the fog gets so thick
And the facts disappear
The Republican Trick
Can be played out again

People, please tell me when
We'll be rid of these men!

Just who do they really
Suppose that they are?
And how do they manage to travel as far
As they seem to have come?
Were we really that dumb?

People, wake up
Figure it out
Religious fanatics
Around and about
The Court House, The State House,
The Congress, The White House

Criminal saints
With a "Heavenly Mission" --
A nation enraptured
By pure superstition

Do you believe in the Invisible Army?
(Yes, indeed!)

When the lie's so big
And the fog so thick
And the facts kept forgotten
Then the Republican Trick
(Ketchup is a vegetable!)
Can be played out again
People, please tell me when
We'll be rid of these men!

26. Or perhaps this one, where "George's son" drives all the sheep off a cliff and ruins the farmer
Edited on Tue Feb-13-07 01:56 PM by LeftishBrit
George's Son

George's Son

There was George and there was George's son
Two finer dogs there never did run
They ran the sheep and they ran them well
And George's son, he could run like hell

Oh one dark night when all were safe asleep
To George's son, some devil did creep
Saying show your master, come show him true
What young George's son with them sheep can do

And how they scrambled and how they flew
And how they thundered that parish through
How high the cliff he drove them along
Oh, and in his ears was that devil's song

Their clattering bells roused the shepherd bold
And at that sound, oh his blood ran cold
And he prayed for mercy with all his might
Saying some demon rides with my sheep this night

And quickly quickly he ran the ground
And quickly quickly that cliff he found
And quickly quickly he raised his gun
And the devil smiled on young George's son.

A flock was lost and a fortune too
And a brisk young farmer cold ruin knew
To some laboring job he was forced to come
But his saddest loss was young George's son.

There was George and there was George's son
Two finer dogs there never did run
They ran the sheep and they ran them well
And George's son, he could run like hell

Hardy.

27. OK, here are my picks:
1) "Masters of War," by Bob Dylan (already mentioned, but this is perfect for this administration I think)

2) "The Times They Are A-Changin'," by Bob Dylan (since November 7, yeah baby! :))

3) "The Bravery of Being Out of Range," by Roger Waters (written about Poppy Bush, but definitely applicable to Junior)

4) "What God Wants (Parts I, II, & III)," by Roger Waters (same as above)

5) "Perfect Sense (Parts I & II)," by Roger Waters (again - actually, pretty much the whole Amused to Death album fits)

6) "The FCC Song," by Eric Idle (Warning: explicit lyrics!)

7) "The Fletcher Memorial Home," by Pink Floyd ("Take all your overgrown infants away somewhere/And build them a home/A little place of their own/The Fletcher Memorial home for incurable tyrants..." Yeah, that seems suitable, don't you think? ;))

8) "Holiday," by Green Day

(Disclaimer: None of these lyrics are mine - they are copyrighted by the authors/artists/etc., and I don't own any of these web sites, either. I just did a Google search for lyrics and posted links to some of the ones I found for ease of use...however, if that's not cool, just let me know and I'll take it down.) :)
