'cause I've always liked the Chicks and was never pissed at them, so I never needed a reason to "make nice" with them. But honestly, I doubt the controversy will ever be over. I mean, all along it's been driven by a bunch of hateful, spiteful FReeper-types, and it's doubtful they'd ever be willing to forgive an outspoken (and awesome!) liberal female like Natalie Maines for anything!

Metallica is probably libertarian. And Maynard just may surprise you.

All bands are very social conscious on some signifacant causes. Look deeper. Obviously bands that wear their politics on their sleeves, Pearl Jam for instance, are fewer in number since they do alienate. I think most musicians outside of CW (and the obvious hate bands) veer left.
