What are the top three beers that you would find in your fridge?
For me, first would be Dos Equis,
Next would be Tacate
Third would be Shiner Bock.

Oh, of course I'd be well stocked on lime slices for the Dos Equis and the Tacate!

Anything by Sleeman, especially Steam
Anything by Okanagan Spring, especially 1516
Anything by Deschutes, especially Cinder Cone (alas, nearly gone)

Honorable mention to Big Rock Brewery. I won't buy their stuff (the owner is a bit of a right-wing nut) but if someone brings some to a dinner party, I won't say no.

17. Actually, Guinness has the rep of a high-alcohol beer.
Stouts in general, and Guinness in particular, have low to average alcohol by volume. Guinness brews in so many countries and tweaks its recipe from place to place - it may have a higher ABV here in N. America than in Ireland.

There's this brew pub in Albuquerque, Turtle Mountain Brewing Company (I think), that makes a really great brandy ale that I have dreams about, and I don't even like beer much. Can't put it in my fridge, though.

Fullers in the bottle is nowhere near s good as a cellar temperatre pint pulled from the cask in a London pub on a chilly wet night.

2) Duvel
3) Miller Lite (It's like the diet sprite of beers)

37. Guinness, Dos Equis, Saint Arnold's
* Guinness in cans was a great invention; the old bottles held sludge & the new bottles give an odd chemical taste. Simply the pinnacle of the brewer's art.

* Dos Equis. Light or dark? They're both great.

* Saint Arnold's is a local microbrewer with several good options--some seasonal. Their Winter Stout surprised me--it's almost comparable with Guinness.

Somebody mentioned Fin du Monde--it's one of the Quebecois beers from Unibroue. Strong, expensive & hard to find in Houston, they're not usually in my refrigerator. But they're amazing. (Good labels, too!)

(note, I only gave up beer because of the high carb contents. And no, low-carb beer is not an option since they all taste like "Beer Flavored Kool-Aid").

Would probably be one of these 3 beers (in no particular order):

Newcastle Brown Ale
Dogfish Ale (A local beer from Delaware and it's real good too)
Harps

Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 10:10 AM by KTM
After years of being a bean pole, I've started getting a gut... Sam makes the only light beer I've ever liked - it's actually really good !! The Yuengling Black & Tan is quite nice as well, and cheap ! Haven't had the Celis in a long time, since it got sold to Miller, so it might suck now... but it used to be the bomb, especially on a hot day... since I can nver find it though, my other hot day favorite is the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale... love the slight metallic taste - great beer.

Honorable Mention goes to Harpoon Ale's Winter Warmer during the Xmas holiday - very nice.

That is, if we are here in the states.

If I was in Europe, it would definitely be Stiegel (from Salzburg), Budweiser (from Budvar, Czech Republic), and Schultheiss (from Berlin).

Mmmm, beer.

On edit: I just noticed that the three beers I chose if we were here in the states are all European imports. Not one American beer in the lot. Pretty sad commentary, if you ask me.
