Man Used Stun Gun On 18-Month Old Son - Arrested

(ALBANY) - On Saturday, at 4:40 PM, a 21-year-old Albany mother brought her 18-month-old son to the Albany Police Department to report a child abuse.

The mother reported that her husband, 23-year-old Rian James Whittman, had used a stun-gun device on their son causing injury.

The investigation revealed that Rian James Whittman used a 100,000 volt stun-gun device multiple times on his 18-month old son over an approximately 3-week period.

The child was taken to Samaritan Albany General Hospital where he was examined and treated for injuries from the stun-gun.

The child was later taken into protective custody by the Department of Human Services.

Albany Police arrested Rian James Whittman later that same night at 10:20 PM. in the 1900 block of SE Hill Street without incident.

Being a parent, I can understand being angry and/or frustrated with your child. Heck, while I'm not a spanker myself, I can understand being angry/frustrated enough to spank your child...

But, if somebody is going to stun gun an 18 month old, they are either batshit insane or just downright evil. That's just way, way, way over the line.
