It's about damn time the Colts got into the Super Bowl
Edited on Sun Jan-21-07 10:27 PM by Ignacio Upton
Manning is one of THE best QB's playing right now. Unfortunately, there has been something about the playoffs (and the Patriots in particular) that have managed to shut him down. It reminds me of the Bulls-Pistons rivalry in the late '80s to early '90s (ie. "Jordan Rules.") Like Jordan and the Bulls, Manning and the Colts have overcome a foe that was seen as a proverbial brick wall. I'm also hoping that Manning doesn't end up like Marino and Kelly...good QB's, but no Super Bowl to back their records up.

Here's to you, Peyton:

4. Twice
Once in 1969 (Super Bowl III) when Naimath and the Jets "shocked the world" and became the first AFL team to beat on NFL team (this was before the 1970 merger between the NFL and AFL.) Their second appearance was in 1971 (Super Bowl V) when they defeated the Cowboys (they were moved into the AFC after the merger) by a field goal. Interestingly, the MVP of that game, Chuck Howey of the Cowboys, is the only Super Bowl MVP named from the losing team.

3. Here here!
I was in middle school in Indiana when the Colts came to Indy. We've been waiting a long time for this. I just talked to my dad (he still lives in Indianapolis). I think he was crying--just a little.

6. Would it be at all crass...
To hope for a terrorist attack on this Super Bowl?
(Just kidding!) :-)

Seriously, I detest both teams.

7. Kidding or not, that was totally crass.
Even when the Packers were good and made it to the Super Bowl, that particular thought never even came to mind.

I despise the Green Bay Packers but I'd never even think anything like that. Shame on you!!!

9. 1st half - vintage manning choke
I was sure the Colts would lose due to the classic manning choke, and I stopped watching.

Now I'm shocked they won!

Manning, and by consequence the Colts, have been "that team that's good, but just doesn't make it." I'm glad that they'll have their chance in the Super Bowl.

11. This super bowl is the battle of the QBs
One of the best and arguably the smartest QB the league has seen vs. clearly the worst QB the super bowl has ever seen (yes, even worse than Dilfer).

I hope Manning wins this one.
