No Man's Woman
This video has two of my favorite things: Sinead O'Connor (singing No Man's Woman) and Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner in scenes from Alias). It's so righteous I had to share it.

No Man's Woman Lyrics
by Sinead O'connor

I don't wanna be no man's woman
It don't make me happy this mantrolling
thing that you got for me so I become
no man's woman

I don't wanna be no man's woman
I've other work I want to get done
I haven't travelled this far to become
no man's woman
no man's woman

Cuz I'm tired of it
and I'm so scared of it
that I'll never trust again
cuz a man can fake you
take your soul and make you
miserable in so much pain

My friends think I'm alone but I've got secrets
I don't tell everything about the love I get
I got a lovin' man but he's a spirit

He never does me harm never treats me bad
He'd never takes away all the love he has
and I'm forgiven oh a million times

I'm never tired of it
and I'm not scared of it
cuz it doesn't cause me pain
Like a man can fake you
take your soul and make you
never be yourself again

I never wanna be no man's woman
I only wanna be my own woman
I haven't travelled this far to become
no man's woman (x3)

Wow, I never realized how spiritual this song was until just now when I read the lyrics. Cool.

1. I never saw Alias - is it pertinent to the show/character?

2. yes
It's from the first episode, that song anyway. I was actually planning on having an "Alias-athon" today but I can't find my DVD's right now. It happens when they kill her fiance and she realizes she isn't working for the CIA but the bad guys instead, so she goes and gets something really important to them to prove her loyalty and then goes to the CIA and becomes a double agent. When she's walking down the street with the bright red hair and blood on her mouth because the Taiwanese guy (played by Ric Young) tortured her by pulling out her teeth, and getting ready to go into the CIA they are playing this song. That part is in this video, too. At least that's the way I remember it, like I said I can't find my DVD's right now

5. I found my DVD's
she is the biggest female badass character in ages. Watching that show never fails to make me feel strong inside. I love her character and Michael Vartan, and her Dad's character. Right now I'm watching the part where Danny calls her Dad to ask for his approval for the wedding and her Dad goes off on him. It's hysterical.

glad to know there is another Alias fan on here. :)

7. We were very sad when it ended.
I loved the female guest stars, as well. Isabella Rosalini, Sonia Braga, and especially Lena Olin.

8. I was crazy about Lena Olin

She was incredible. I really liked Isabella Rosalini. I think the first three seasons were the best; you could really tell when J.J. Abrams got going with Lost that Alias suffered a whole lot, which is a shame. I think it could have gone on for several more seasons if the writing had been there.

edit: I'm also realizing watching this that one of the things that made the show great was the music. From the very beginning the songs on there were songs that I listened to, CD's in my collection that were never played on radio that much and were overlooked.
