Showing Tavernertoddler "Sesame Street Old School" - all shows from 69-74
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 09:43 PM by Taverner
Wow...this show definitely used to be better - its not just how I remembered it...

And Oscar being orange once wasn't just a past memory remembered incorrectly...

Or Big Bird the pinhead...

2. Ahhhh... those were the years!
I started first grade in 1969, and our teacher was thrilled to have Sesame Street on the air! In fact, all of my teachers through third grade were Sesame Street fanatics. I still remember everything about it! I watched it after third grade too, but not as often. But I have fond memories... :D

6. I remember Mr. Hooper and his store.
That was before he died. :(

Big Bird was always having trouble with his name.

"Hi, Mr. Looper!"

(wearily) "Hooper!"

9. My European friend
spent a few years of his childhood in the 70s in the US. He learned English from Sesame Street!

11. I want to get that.
I think the show was better back then, though it's still some of the best children's television there is. I love it when we watch the new ones, and they'll occasionally show a clip from the older shows. Brings back memories. They showed the classic Alligator King animated segment the other day. Loved it.
