2. I'll be more than happy to give you mine
But, I bought it when I was a freshman in college (circa 1997). It might be a little outdated. :D

7. Amazon used?
Too bad shipping eats up a lot of the savings...unless you are getting over $25 worth of books.

8. If you ever find a discount, I'd be very much surprised. Even libraries
don't get discounts on books such as that since it's considered a "core" item.

15. Does it have to be the Chicago manual?
You might get a better deal on the AP Stylebook. Mine was $17.95 (new) via Amazon.

18. The editor I work for uses Chicago.
So, if I make any edits for her authors, it has to be from that book. I use hers when I'm at her office, but I'm starting to do my own proofing for people, so I need my own copy and I am CHEAP!

19. What about Turabian?
Kate Turabian's manual is a distilled version of Chicago. Much cheaper, I think.

24. I'm not sure what a "deal" is
Edited on Sun Jan-14-07 04:31 PM by hippywife
on this particular book because I'm not familiar with it, but Amazon has a hardcover on sale for $32.45 with new and used starting at $29.99. That's for the 15th edition. They have the 14th edition new and used from $11.00.

Hope that helps.

On edit! Oooh! I just found it (15th edition) in paperback on Amazon for $8.00 new! Surely, THAT's a deal!

$32.45 for hardback is the full version, I think. It's on sale from $55.00 with used from $29.99. Is that still too much?

Edited on Sun Jan-14-07 04:33 PM by XemaSab
To make money.

You're lucky you don't have to buy a Jepson ($95+) or steel-toed boots ($250) for work. :P

On edit: not to mention the binoculars and spotting scope. :P :P
