Well my friends, I am leaving DU

[The Straight Story]

I don't want to go into the reasons why but it is time for me to step away and leave this site to the professionals.

For me it was more personal, and I suppose not enough political. Too many vanities, and not enough MSM perhaps. Either way, I wanted to let you know so people don't ask 'hey, where'd did so-and-so go?'

I am not looking for replies - logging out after I hit post. Just wanted a thread I could refer people to who asked.

I guess I am not good at following the rules :)

You are a great group of people, I just have too much going on in my life anymore to post here. I value greatly the friends I have made in GD, and some here in the Lounge (though I spend little time here - sorry about that).

I guess I took to making DU too much of a personal vanity board, posting a lot about my life and such, and not enough on other things (though I did post a lot of political threads that sunk....).

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, and I wish you the best.

7. No, just confusion on my part.

Seems to me that SS was posting feeling good stuff about DU shortly before this, then this posting so I am confused. I have offered my sympathies and other such thoughts elsewhere on this thread, just am confused and looking for an answer. If someone posts about someone's other threads, and I don't know what they are talking about, I can search to find out more details. In this case the search left me more confused, though I have since found other despondent posts by the OP which explains some, and hence my response elsewhere in this thread. Not meaning snarky, looking for enlightenment. Best of wishes to all this very happy and very sad day.
