Anybody ever read "Bored of the Rings?"
It's the National Lampoon version of LOTR, written in the late 70s...

I used to have a copy of it around when I was a kid, but I didn't read much of it because I was too young to understand the jokes. Now that I have overdosed on LOTR, I want to find a copy again...

1. I did, I loved it!
I also read their version of Dune, Doone - which had the characters riding Pretzels through the desert - a place where Beer was Life.

10. i remember being totally shocked ...
... reading an article about George H.W. Bush and how one of his favorite expressions was "Unleash Chiang!" (on the tennis court, of course) ... it shows up in Bored of the Rings.

My ex-boyfriend had practically memorized the book ... I think one of the reasons he asked me out in the first place was my ability to finish random quotes from it.
