Why do cats go crazy after taking a dump?
One of ours just burned out of the litter box, going about 100 mph through the house, it does stink to high heaven, maybe they just want to get away from the smell. I'm glad I don't do that after I'm through.

1. They feel refreshed...and lighter
Or something. Our three do the same. I always know where they're coming from when they go so fast they leave scorch marks on the hardwoods.

4. Mine do the same thing--flies out of the litterbox as if to say "Weeeeee!"
And then bounces around the apartment for awhile. I guess everybody feels better after a good bowel movement, even cats. :7

7. I think they feel vulnerable in the litter box.
Most of mine don't seem to like being watched. Once the deed is done, I believe they dash away so as not to be tracked by larger predators.
