Craigslist exists purely to drive me insane.
I posted a few weeks ago about the idjit who was listing a used schoolbook I need for more than it costs new at the overpriced school bookstore. Well, apparently forgetting that misadventure, I listed a free item today. So far I've received several emails, all of them utterly incoherent- or perhaps written by inebriated monkeys with severe tremors and malfunctioning keyboards- and unfamiliar with basic details of the listing such as size of the item or quantity of items listed, presumably from people who will pick up any free item as later garage sale fodder or something.

I pulled the ad and I'm just going to do what I should have done to begin with and drive the thing over to Goodwill, where somebody will have to pay for it but it won't be my problem. Next time I try to help a family out, somebody whack me over the head, okay?

1. I learned earlier
that a whack in the head is more preferable to listening to Oasis. Therefore, Oasis will be your punishment instead.

2. That's not even right, man.
First you stiff me on my Christmas card, which is clear evidence you don't love me anymore and I was right to return your sack shaver, and then you assign me torture via Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova? You suck dude.

Next Christmas, I'm going to give you what you really deserve- The Collected Works of Nickelback. :grr:

3. For your birthday, I'm hiring the Gallagher bros to play an acoustic
set (6 hours worth) for you at your house. Hide the breakables (they fight).

And pfft on your Nickelback threat. I'd take a dozen Nickelbacks to 1 Oasis. Nickelback KNOWS they suck, which makes it funny.

4. For Valentines day I'm putting an Epilady in you Phillips Body Trimmer box.
On second thought, having all your pubes pulled out by the bloody roots would still suck less than Oasis. Back to the drawing board.

5. I feel your pain.
We just had an inexplicably weird encounter with a Craigslist responder yesterday.

We've had good luck overall, but you do get the occasional dipshit. Oh well.

6. I've sold off some stuff to non-stupid people.
I guess I just don't have time to wait for a coherent response right now, or any incentive to do so on a free item.

I'd just set it on the curb with a free sign if we had any through traffic.

7. Yes, it's really annoying when you're
GIVING something away. I've noticed that those can be the worst people for some reason. It's only worth it if it's too heavy to haul away yourself! :-)

8. I've had good luck getting rid of stuff on freecycle.
People have been good about coming to get it when they say they will and I usually get a thank you email to boot.

13. I configured my account so I only get moderator emails from them.
I need to get less stuff, not more, so I only use the list to post available items. I only post interesting items, too. If I have a big box of old clothes and a few paperback books I want to get rid off, I just drop it off at Goodwill. But, for instance, the other day I found a box of partially used art supplies, still perfectly good, that I didn't think I would ever use. I posted those on freecycle and got a very grateful taker.

14. LOL, I have done the same thing and ended up donating
or throwing it in front of my house with a FREE sign on it.
