When you're young, you have to make yourself belch, but as you get older, your body takes care of that itself, and you can either be a spectator, or get involved. I decided that if I had to belch at least I would enunciate clearly when I did. I started out with "yarb", which comes pretty naturally, but switched to "Barb" in honor of the fact that two Bushes carry that name. I'm trying to switch to "Dubya" but it doesn't work as well, since it starts with a 'd'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiced_alveolar_plosive rather than a 'b'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiced_bilabial_plosive , which tends to, shall we say, volunteer itself. If I can work out the details, I'm hoping to start a national trend. (Hopefully this will work out better than the "Ronald" or "Ronnie" trend, as in "Damn, I just stepped in a huge Ronnie!".) Advice?
