I've got a monkey on my back for good German power metal, but I like some American metal as well. What are your top five favorite bands?

Here's mine:

1. Iron Savior. German metal GODS who play awesomely kick-ass sci-fi power metal. They've got five albums.
2. Opeth. If you don't know who Opeth are, you've got something wrong with you.
3. Human Fortress. German fantasy metal band. Their first album, Lord of Earth and Heaven's Heir, is good stuff. Haven't heard album #2 yet.
4. Savatage...although they're kind of in between metal and rock.
5. Mastodon. The Leviathan album is a damn sight better than their older stuff.

1. Don't really have a top five, but...

Anathema and Porcupine Tree have their metal moments. Granted, Anathema is moving away from them and Porcupine Tree is moving toward them, but still...

I was going to say I have a fondness for copper; it's a pretty neat metal. Lots of different uses, and all that.
