I should have stayed home last night.
So many things went wrong before I even left the house that I should have known I was in for trouble. One hour later, driving in circles in the dark, completely lost and running low on gas, I should have made the decision that if I managed to make it home, I'd stay there. I made it home but didn't stay there and oh I regret it. I've never had such a bad time nor been so badly-dressed and miserable in public before. At one point in the night, in an unfamiliar club, a wasted young man overheard me talking and decided that I had insulted him. He disappeared and I didn't see him again, but a bouncer came over and told me I had to leave for pouring a drink on somebody's head. WTF? Although my friends assured the bouncer that I was a peaceful patron just conversing with friends we were were ousted nevertheless. I'm so proud: I haven't been booted out of anything before. This was my first time. The whole thing left me feeling somehow unclean and wishing I'd stayed in and hung out in the Lounge with you guys. End of rant. So, who wants a drink? hehe

3. Got Yer Drink Here!
well it's O'Doul's

but maybe at the altitude here in Colorado, it will give me a buzz, hell the lack of oxygen may do that (7500 feet)

;-)

We had a party in the lounge at Whoa Nelly's place last night, it rocked.

Sometimes I miss diet soda, but that's about it. Maybe you should switch to tne non alcoholic wine.

I'd try it

I bought some Mexican Pop called "Sangria" and brought it to our Christmas party and I almost gagged.

I'll have to get some recommendations for NA wine

How about NA Vodka?

:P

The worst thing that can happen is that you won't post a picture of yourself in feathers. And though that would be a terrible disappointment (and I'd cry) it still isn't as bad as being bounced.

I remember getting bounced out of the same bar 3 or 4 times in a night.

Ah, them good old days!:pals:

15. I Never Thought Anything BUT That You Are Dignified
I'm just messing with you

I was pretty embarrassed when I realized that I kept ending up in the same bar and they kept throwing me out. I just wanted to dance with the pretty blonde who was making eyes at me.

I would find myself dancing with her, and then some big guy was leading me out. Then again. Then friends of mine were trying to stop me from going in. Then I was in. In and out of blacking out over and over again, but very focused on dancing with that blonde! LOL

It just wasn't fair? I don't even know why they were throwing me out much less remember going back in.

This is only a small reason that I don't drink anymore, but you know more about that!

16. That is horrible!
I'm so sorry you had such a bad night.

That reminds me of a funny story...the one and only time I ever got in a fight in public was with a girl who accused me of pouring a drink on her head. We were standing watching a band and she swore it was me who did it. She caught me in the ladies room later and attacked me. We were wrestling on the couch in the ladies room when the bouncers came in and broke us apart. They made her leave so there was some justice. It was so funny though...I'd never been in a cat fight before.

What a bummer for you though Crim_son. It's terribly humilating to get kicked out of a bar. To offset this bad experience, just try and think of the last time you went out and it was good.

:toast:

Now a catfight, that's going to have to wait for the New Year's Celebrations! I've never done that before either. You poor thing. When other people are very drunk and you aren't, you really have no defense

I've had a spate of bad luck lately and I'm really becoming accustomed to it. It makes me grateful for the small things, hehe.

20. Have You Ever Been In A Crowd Of People
drinking on the street that was so tight you couldn't do anything but hold your drink up and kind of move with the crowd?

Then when someone pours a drink on you, you really can't do anything but either pour back and lose your drink, or laugh and drink and go on.

Cat fighing Engi!

33. Too Much Fun!
When I was in college we had "streakers night" at Oklahoma State, it was just a big drunken party in the street, but there were always streakers and people kept the cops away from them. It was stopped when they passed a law prohibiting people from drinking in the streets.

It was a blast. Of course concerts and large gatherings have downsides.

New Years in Vegas sounds like a blast!

Edited on Sat Dec-16-06 09:35 PM by crim son
My daughter called while I was in the shower to say she was stranded. I had to go out in wet hair and pick her up which made me very late getting dressed. I couldn't figure out what to wear because I'm feeling fat these days. I finally got in the car but because I am night blind, and because there was a big road sign saying "Keep Right" at the intersection I was told to take a left on.... well, I got lost and ended up somewhere out in rural Maine. I finally got home because I needed directions to the next place I was supposed to go but I couldn't remember the name of the place. I finally got there somehow, but the people I was supposed to meet were nowhere to be found. By now it's eight o'clock and I hadn't eaten anything at all during the day so I am stressed and starving and wearing this gawd-awful outfit for the party I didn't attend. I decide to get in my car to drive to our usual meeting spot and get stuck behind somebody whose truck has died. I can't back up and I can't move forward. Eventually an apartment dweller appeared and moved his parked car so those of us who were blocked could drive around the truck. I made it to the bar and one of my friends was there. I offered to buy a round... But guess what? My fifty-dollar bill is gone! (it turns out it had fallen out of my purse at home. One bit of good news). At this point the night has really just begun and it went downhill from there. Last straw, I check my email this morning and the young man, yes him, who said he'd meet me out on Friday... well, he'd written and said he'd be where I was, as he'd suggested. But, he wasn't! Or he took one look at me and ran for his life because one weekend I'm a babe in jeans and a tank top and the next I'm a middle-aged mother in ugly dress pants and a bad sweater. Dear god. I'm glad you asked. :)
