GLENVIEW, Ill. -- You'll never think of Rudolph in quite the same way again.
The ever-so-festive Redhots And Fries food stand in Glenview, Ill., will be featuring reindeer hotdogs during this holiday season. Owner Fred Markoff will be serving them up in the traditional style, with grilled onions and mustard the way they do in Anchorage, Alaska. The Redhots Reindeer Hot Dog costs $8.00 (tax included) and is available starting Friday through the holiday season.
The reindeer hot dogs are produced by Indian Valley Meats, located in Indian, Alaska -- one of Alaska's largest game processors and seafood smokehouses. They said that the products are of the highest quality and reflect the pristine Alaskan surroundings. For more information, visit IndianValleyMeats.com.
Putting a spin on the classic hot dog stand, Redhots and Fries is the first of its kind in the north suburbs. Markoff serves up everything from the traditional Chicago-style hot dog to a variety of sausages and even exotic game hot dogs, like venison and alligator, in addition to fresh-cut Belgian fries with dipping sauces.
Redhots is open Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is closed Sundays. For more information, you may call 847-657-9200.
