Construction Crew Takes Roof Off House, Doesn't Return

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- An Orange County woman doesn't know when she will get her roof finished because Orange County fraud investigators shut the job down.

The woman hired a door to door contractor and gave them a $2,000 deposit. A crew took her roof off and then didn't return.

She called Affordable Roofing, which was the company she thought she had hired. They showed up and realized the men who did some of the job didn't work for them.

“I don't know. I don't know what to do now. They already started on my house and I need somebody qualified to finish my house,” said Jeanne Louis, the homeowner.

Louise still doesn't know the name of the contractor she hired, but fraud investigators said whoever she hired was working without a permit and didn't have a proper license.
