Poll question: Was 2003 a good year for you overall?
Before I get off, I want to ask. It was pretty good for me. Had a couple deaths in the extended family (one I knew well died,) but I finally received my webmaster's certificate. Got to see my grandfather for Christmas and I gave/received great gifts. Politically, I got to know our candidates. Wish there was more positive coverage of them.

1. Not a good year at all.
It began with a botched operation on my wife that put her at death's door for 2 weeks and in the bed for the rest of the year and it ended with the insurance company denying the only chance for recovery and a normal life.

Not a good year at all.

3. I am so sorry, pmn
I hope you are fighting that insurance company.

I agree, this has not been a good year - for America. My heart is with the troops in Iraq and the Iraqi people, especially the children. And my heart has been breaking since March - it is so terrible what is happening there.

4. Very sorry to hear that
All the more reason we need a Democratic President. We need a much better health plan than we have now.

If Bush gets into office again, I'm thinking a temporary retreat from the country might be in order. Too many people now are hopeless when it comes to seeing what Bush and his misadministration really are.

5. I went on an airplane for the first time in my life
First in January to Florida, where I had a great time w/ my family, then in June to Mexico where I had a great time w/o them.

7. Good year pretty much
at least for my family. #2 son graduated from college and got his first teaching job. #1 son is doing well in law school. His SO is applying to medical schools and they are excited about that, even though it may mean moving back to NYC.

I got my job back. I didn't get sick or break anything unless a root canal counts for that.

I've done a lot of art, made some new friends and kept most of the old ones. :-)

8. Not a good year
Let's see...

-had to listen to Rush and O'Reilly way too much
-step-mother diagnosed with MS
-troubles in the family ($)- step-dad quit job to become "entrepenuer"

So much more I don't want to depress anyone else.

9. It was a good year for me.
We finally sold our home with its hefty mortgage payments and downsized to a mobile home where we own the home and the lot. We have 3 more payments to make to the previous owner and then we'll be free and clear. NO BILLS. Yeahh! As soon as we finish the upgrading and repairs that need to be done - we can retire, most likely within 12 months. We sacrificed a very nice, nearly new home, for a less stressful life. Best thing we ever did.

10. One of the worst years of my life.
Watching my Dad combat and succumb to cancer. Plus, serious money probems and having a hard time with my depression...I can't wait for this goddamned year to be over.
