1. Word already has spell check.
In the toolbar next to the print preview icon there should be a button saying ABC. That's spell check.

3. If spell check gives you options that you don't understand, post them here.
Sometimes there are too many choices in the spell check results for those who are spelling-challenged.

12. Go up to the "edit" button in your document.
Edited on Wed Nov-29-06 12:35 PM by janesez
Go down to "select all" and click. Then go to "copy" and click.

Then come back here and click on the little envelope next to my name. It will open up a PM window. Right click in that window and choose "paste". Then send.

9. Reply to your message here...
Copy and paste your resume into the reply. Then use the spell check here. Copy and paste back into Wordpad. Then close the window so your message doesn't get sent.

21. You know what's odd? I'm on the spectrum, too, and...
I'm a spelling-bee-class speller! I can, in fact, spot typos a split-second before I read the offending word! I suspect this is because I'm imaging the page, then "word processing" it, rather than reading one word at a time as "neurotypicals" (everyone else) do.

Then again, some of the finest minds in the field have tried and failed to come up with a differential diagnosis of autism vs. Asperger's: it confuses them, you see, when both the verbal and performance IQ scores are off scale!

23. Ditto
I too have AS. IQ 131. Functionally illiterate (a literal thinker and a procedural one; not a lateral thinker as most neurotypals are); have a basic understanding of "body language" that took decades to develop, and even then it is not always empathy as it is "learned response".

22. Ever consider voice recognition software?
You say the words and the computer spells them for you. I think it'd help you out considerably if you can vocalize without much problem.
