Does your kennel charge like a hotel or by the day?
I am trying a new kennel for the dogs this Thanksgiving. As I am a new customer the owner asked for a deposit of half the kennel fees up front. ( I don't know why) I decided to pay the entire fee upfront to ease her mind and so I wouldn't have to hassle with it later. I left them on Tuesday at 9am and will be picking them up at noon on Sunday.( a total of 5 nights) She charged me for six days which included the Tuesday and Sunday. I was in a hurry to hit the road and didn't really notice until I thought about it later. Have you ever heard of a kennel charging like this? I won't be able to check the responses until I get back home Saturday night so this isn't a post and run.........
1. Been a while since I left my pack at a boarding kennel, but...
...I seem to remember this is pretty standard. They charge for the day you bring them and the day you pick them up. But it may vary from kennel to kennel, too.
Don't you just hate leaving them in an unknown situation? I know I do. I've even called from around the country to make sure all was well. By now I either take the pack with me when I travel, or I don't travel.
3. Our kennel does the same when we board our dog ..
We pay for the day we take him in, the days he's there and, the day we pick him up. Don't know why they do that but it's pretty standard I think. We really like the place we take Tarn and so does he :)
