calling cards online - has anyone bought them?
I need to make an international call but I don't have a long distance plan for my land line. Anyone know what is the best way to do this?

I don't know if you have them in the US, but I get either the "Freedom" or "Liberty" cards.

edit: they're by 'primus'

7. The two I mentioned are
I've been using them for years. I primarily use it to call a friend in Australia - 5 hours for $5.

I just checked, there is Primus in the US as well, so perhaps the cards exist there.

You just have to compare all the cards - service fees (some are per call, some take off a nickel or dime per week; the ones I mentioned don't have them at all), how much they charge per minute, when they expire, etc.

5. I use the Freedom card from callingcards.com
even if you don't use the whole thing it'll be much cheaper than dialing direct.

you can usually get the minutes at 2-3 cents each.

6. I was just looking at callingcards.com
I'm glad you mentioned them. I was wondering if this stuff was for real.

8. I used to use 888callingcard.com
they got unreliable. I like this one better.

You order on line and get a pin in email. I've used them about 5-6 times with no problems. It's easy.

it is easy! the only problem now is that phones are down to the country I want to call so I'll have to wait a bit. other than that, it seems really easy!

10. international calling cards
Go to http://www.justphonecards.com

I've bought TONS of phone cards there. They have them rated according to the reception quality, price, etc. The place keeps a record of your purchases (and PIN #'s) so if you lose your PIN number you can find it again. I've always been pleased with this place. They do require a credit card and will need to call you at your home number to verify you are the one requesting the card. Probably so Bush can listen in on all your overseas phone calls...
