How so you refer to opponents of a candidate in G.D. 2004 Primary?

I'm glad we can't say (for instance) "Kerry haters", because it fosters disunity.

I use "opponents of Kerry" or "people who do not suppoet Dean".

1. Why would you refer to them?

If I have to write something like that I almost always use "supporters of_____________"

If the person is not a supporter of that candidate, they always let me know right away.
