What are you listening to - at this exact moment?
Me? I am listening to "You Take My Breath Away" by Rex Smith. Somehow, when it comes to lost oldies, I have a hard time resisting the "cheese factor".

How else could I explain a copy of "Echo Valley 2-6809" by the Partridge Family?

Well, what is it? What are you listening to? Hmmmm?

7. Zappa bootleg: "Freaks and Motherfuckers," from 1970
Part of the "Beat the Boots" series. Great show with Flo and Eddie on vocals and Jeff Simmons on Bass....Aynsley Dunbar plays terrific, and it features the "vocal" version of "Holiday in Berlin," describing Frank's altercation with German Student communists in 1968, after he refused to help burn down the Allied Center in Berlin....Fascinatin' stuff.

8. silence
It's dead in here, and since my firm won't provide good speakers, trying to listen to music is a waste. No boombox.

But in my head, since you mentioned the Partridge Family, I now hear "Albuquerque."

Sorry about the earworm. I'll try to help. Sing along....

"..Stand tall, don't you fall.
For God's sake don't go and do something foolish..."

A little Burton Cummings to make your day a little surreal.

...BTW, Burton Cummings was the lead singer for the Guess Who (remember "American Woman"?). I'm sure you would remember his solo hit "Stand Tall" if it was played on the radio. Which it isn't very much anymore. Thank the Gods.

34. how about "Disney Girls"?
:)

Actually, you really have done me a service. I've remained a fan of Toni Tennille. She really has a fantastic voice. By following links on the page where you got that photo, I've learned she's performing in Washington, DC, on my birthday next year.

So thanks! I hope Dragon doesn't show up -- especially not in that stupid-ass hat.

BTW, I found that photo using dogpile.com as my search engine. Actually, it goes out and compiles stuff from about 12-15 other search engines for you. Helps save alot of time.

Actually, it is the only search engine I've used since Al Gore invented the internet...

In The Zone is a guily pleasure only, as the beats are pretty irresistible. It's the only Britney CD that I have interest in anymore.

Also, as my grandfather is visiting, I've played my Bobby Darin collection.

Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 09:25 PM by mvd
I recommend the Kenwood/Sirius for the better talk stations. It's a little more per month, but not as expensive up front as the Audiobox. There's one station called Sirius Left, which I'll be listening to a lot. I love satellite radio! Seems like the new generation of radio.

In fact, that's what I have on right at this exact moment.
