Why don't old men trim their eyebrows??
I was just watching Andy Rooney and can't look at anything but those flying eyebrows. I always want to find some scissors when I see Larry Hagman too. Do men just not put on their glasses enough to realize they have wigs floating in the air above their eyes or do they just not care?

1. I think funky, bushy eyebrows are hot.
I prefer my men to look like they just stepped out of the forest.

But then again, I'm from Wisconsin. Whaddaya expect?

12. What would you suggest an elderly man do
to get rid of age spots?

3. I wonder that, too.
It's distracting. It wouldn't take much to tame those fellas ...

4. Ask Andy Rooney! He made it fashionable... it's ugly.
I trim Grandpa's eyebrows about every three weeks. And his ears, too, if he needs it.

5. Because they've never been told that they have to.
Look at the time they grew up in. Women gussied up to trap men. Men dressed to impress men, and women dressed to impress men. If a man had talent or money and/or power, everyone was dressing to impress him. All he had to do was shave, shower, and wear a clean suit.

7. I know a guy who is young and has eyebrows that must be an inch & half long
Once I noticed it, I can't even look at him without staring. They are long enough to comb.

9. Mine were done once.
Got a haircut from a Korean women who asked if I wanted them trimmed, so I let her. And no they aren't particularly bushy at all. That was like three years ago, come to think about it - I better actually look at myself in the mirror next time I shave...

10. You know what's worse?
Men who shave every indicator of masculinity from their body. They look like muscled versions of David Bowie in The Man Who Fell To Earth. The ones who don't have muscles, look worse.

I think it's a form a pedophilia. (just kidding kind of sort of)

13. My friend's husband has brows like that.
I have trouble looking at him because all I see are these brows flying all over; I'm not sure whether to comb them or trim them.

15. I never signed up for the ear hair.
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 11:03 PM by GoneOffShore
So when I see them, I pluck them out with a vengeance.

Same with the wild eyebrow hairs and nose hairs.

We went to a wedding recently and there was a guy who I thought had pais (The hair that Jewish men grow called earlocks just in front of the ears.) It wasn't pais it was EARHAIR!!!!! We couldn't take our eyes off it. Trendy looking guy, glasses with red frames, could have been an art director or architect with these REALLY long BUSHY hairs growing out of the backs of his ears that he obviously groomed with a comb.

(added on edit)

Does anyone remember the song "Edward Teller, Told Me Yesterday That His Eyebrow Was Not Real"?

16. They can't see 'em.
Seriously: your close-up vision gets terrible as you age, and when you're wearing glasses and can see, the frames often hide the eyebrows.

18. Why should they give a shit what you think?
Old people have earned the right to wear purple dresses, hideous plaid pants and stupid hats. For years they had to kiss somebody's ass to get laid or to keep their job or keep their wife, husband, kids or relative's happy.

Well times short for most of them and it's time they had some fun. So if you don't like it, don't look.

28. I like that.
As I get older I care less and less about what others think (never thought much about it anyway). BUT, I would say that I have noticed in my parents friends...usually the married guys eyebrows are trimmed. Of course, Rooney is married, so....

19. I was told that they do not care.
My aunt was talking about that sort of thing the other day. She always says something to the effect of "when get to be my age, you don't care any more. You got nothing to prove."

21. Old-time barbers
would trim eyebrows and ears as part of the haircut. But the stylists at most unisex salons aren't barbers. And old-fashioned barbers are getting harder and harder to find.

25. Why should they?
If I don't have to shave my underarms or legs, they don't have to trim their eyebrows or ear hair. Besides, I think it's one of those "I'm an elder, I've earned it," things.
