The candidates are incumbent Robert Ehrlich (R-Bugville*) and Martin O'Malley (D-Mayor of Baltimore).
This morning on the way into DC for an interview, I saw *ahem* a sight. On a half-mile or so stretch of Route 4/Pennsylvania Ave., from Prince George's County west into Washington DC, some desperate Ehrlich fan had absolutely littered the wide grassy divide with Ehrlich yard signs. I mean, LITTERED. They were perhaps three feet apart, in two rows, all up one side of the divide and down the other. Whoever did this had gone twice all around the divide -- there were two rows of these things. There were hundreds.
On my way HOME from DC at about 3:00 PM, there was one poor State Highway Administration guy, yanking those signs out and throwing them into his yellow van. Of course I don't take this to mean the SHA supports O'Malley; I take it to mean SHA saw this as a nuisance, or even a violation of law.
But still. It warmed my heart.
:woohoo:
* There's an extermination co. in MD called Ehrlich - I believe ol' Bob has some connection to it but don't know what it is.
