My husband won a ticket to see Al Gore!
:bounce: And I may get to go as well; another guy won a ticket but will be out of town. :bounce:

He's speaking at University of Redlands and there will be a book signing! http://www.redlands.edu/x29299.xml
OMG! I have to get a book!

This will be election night. I hope there will be double reason to celebrate the evening. :kick:

Al Gore....still my president! :patriot:

3. I'm just imagining him waking up, the next day ...
Pounding headache, and you're bringing him an icepack -- smiling innocently, while hiding an autographed copy of Gore's book behind your back!

4. I'm going to have to do some fast reading!
I just ordered "An Inconvenient Truth" online, two-day delivery. I was waiting for the dvd to come out but I need a book for him to sign. I'd feel like a idiot if I hadn't at least read some of it!

Now to stock up in the liquor aisle....;)

5. and here's another possible option ...

This website has the text of the Kyoto Protocol (the historic emissions agreement which Gore played an important role in brokering). This is the same treaty, signed though not ratified by the US, from which Bush wanted to remove the US's signature. (The climate experts I work for have suggested that this might be out of jealousy and pique ... as it is now, the US isn't bound by Kyoto and so the gesture would come across like Bush saying he hated the work that Gore did on the issue.)

Anyway, from what I've heard, Gore was proud of how he'd helped bring all those different countries together. If you can't get a copy of the book in time, an autographed printout of the treaty would also be pretty neat ... plus, you might be able to get a rise out of him if you say you're hoping for Bush's signature too!

Do enjoy the event! Sounds like fun. Especially on election day.
