Man, I just discovered a great genre of music.....
Violin jazz with a drizzle of French Cafe Music over top spiced up with Chet Atkins style guitar...

Damn....

The Hot Club of San Fransico the first band that came up on Pandora....

I was in the mood for some Debussy...

I entered it into pandora and put came the Hot Club of San Fransico...

1. I don't like violins in my jazz.
Sure, there's a lot of respectable stuff out there with fiddles, but I don't really care for it.

3. Enzo Rao was pretty hot on some of the Glen Velez CD's
There was a real North African flavor to the works. Gianni Gebbia on Soprano Sax, very nice. Of course Glen Velez and his frame drums is the star. Rao and Gebbia are from Sicily and
were probably heavily influenced by the music of North Africa.

2. Django Rhinehart and Stephan Grappelli
I'm glad the Hot Club of San Fransico is keeping their music alive. Dave Grisman is also a big fan of Django Rhinehart and Stephan Grappelli. He's played with everyone from the Dead, to Stephan Grappelli.

The Modern Jazz Quartet did an album entitled "Django."

The only band so far in it is "ZombyWoof's Womp Rat" and we haven't technically formed yet.

10. They are trying so hard..
... to label the unlabelable, nothing would surprise me. My favorite is "IDM" or intelligent Dance Music, which I generally like but you'd have to be a total spaz to be able to dance to it :)
