When you destroy a building, you are not supposed to...

dump the entire northern wall on the building next door, or...

break the train tracks.

3. Someone's going to lose their...
...performance bond. And never be allowed to work in the city again. That is pretty spectacularly inept.

6. I don't know
While I appreciate that this **looks** like a tragedy. I can't help but think these may be clever CG mock-ups superimposed on an HO-scale train model.

I'm not saying I'm the leading opinion on such things and if I am wrong please correct me.

If I am wrong, WOW, do I not want to be the Foreman on that job. Nor do I want to be the guy who gets to talk to the insurance companies.

8. These shots were taken out of Zombie's...
...dorm room, and follow the ones he posted last week of the huge fire that gutted the building. I don't think Zombie has been doctoring the photos for effect.

10. Cool
Somthing about the focus on one of them made it appear to be a macro of a model as oopsed to a zoom from far away. No offense was intended :)

7. What a major screwup
Hey, someone in another thread was in need of some bricks...

Is that a freight track, or a commuter rail?

13. Not for a while anyway.
If you want to come downtown from Midway, you have to take the Orange line (the tracks in the picture) to Roosevelt and then transfer to the Red line subway.

17. Jeez, what a cock-up...
It was probably some political crony with little demolition experience in tight quarters. Politics as usual in Chicago.

18. This reminds me of when I was a kid and they actually tore down houses.
We were always on the lookout for them to get some boards to make a fort or a go kart. Nowadays it is rare here to see an old house being torn down. Do kids even make forts anymore?
