5. Because neither of you

has eaten Southern food. We know how to fix lima (or butter) beans AND beets. And have them taste good.

You put lima beans with fresh corn, a little pepper and salt, and a little bacon or hamhocks if you like. (You can also be fru-fru about it and use pancetta, if you prefer.)

Beets should be pickled and sweet, and served like any other pickle. Yum!
