Edited on Sun Oct-22-06 11:56 PM by wildhorses
:wtf: when did this happen? damn . I saw her live...gotta alotta love

and I loved the way she did

the angels rejoiced

and also this song:

I been a walkin, walkin in the moonlight
Trippin in the starlight, Lord, and Im feelin down
Walkin in the shadows, sneakin down a side road
Come early mornin Ill be there on the edge of town

I was a thinkin, thinkin bout a good thing
Thinkin bout a sweet gleam, uum, in my honeys eyes
And I was a-sinkin, feelin kinda lonesome
Come early morning Ill be home at my honeys side

I have drifted up across the mountain
And I have stumbled down the other side
And Ive been tempted, tried and troubled
Come early morning Ill be home and satisfied

Instrumental

She give me little lovin
Give me little sunshine
Make me have a good time, Lord
When Im feelin blue
I couldnt refuse her
Well I couldnt misuse her
Come early mornin Ill be home
With my honeydew

I have drifted up across the mountains
I have stumbled down the other side
Ive been tempted, tried and troubled
Come early mornin Ill be home
And satisfied...

UPDATE: Singer Nicolette Larson Dies At Age 45

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Country-pop singer Nicolette Larson,
best known for her hit version of Neil Young's "Lotta Love"
in the 1970s, has died at age 45, her publicist said Wednesday.

Publicist Michael Jensen said Larson died Tuesday at UCLA
Medical Center in Los Angeles from an abnormal accumulation of
fluid in the brain.

Larson originally was admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank
this week with massive liver failure and was then transferred
to UCLA Medical Center, where she died, Jensen said.

An earlier report from a member of Larson's staff that she had
been admitted to the hospital with a brain seizure was incorrect,
he said.

The Angels Rejoiced

A house not a home was the picture Satan painted
For sweet little sister and me
Our daddy would frown while mother was prayin'
His heart was so hardened that he would not believe.

In anger he'd swear his voice low and loud
His Sundays were spent out with the gamblin' crowd
I've never seen my daddy inside the house of God
For Satan held his hand, down the path of sin he trod.

Not long ago our circle was broken
When God called on Mother one night
In a voice sweet and low her last words were spoken
Asking our daddy to raise her children right.

The angels rejoiced in Heaven last night
I heard my daddy pray "Dear God, make it right."
He was smiling and singing with tears in his eyes
While Mother with the angels rejoiced last night
While Mother with the angels rejoiced last night.

18. Comes A Time
"Comes A Time"

Comes a time
when you're driftin'
Comes a time
when you settle down
Comes a light
feelin's liftin'
Lift that baby
right up off the ground.

Oh, this old world
keeps spinning round
It's a wonder tall trees
ain't layin' down
There comes a time.

You and I we were captured
We took our souls
and we flew away
We were right
we were giving
That's how we kept
what we gave away.

Oh, this old world
keeps spinning round
It's a wonder tall trees
ain't layin' down
There comes a time.

and wondering what the hell we were doing in December 1997 to have missed this news(?).

...opening with Christopher Cross for the Fleetwood Mac "Tusk" tour at the Hollywood Bowl.

Then she just sort of disappeared from the radar screen, only reappearing to sing backup on Neil's "Unplugged" album. The next thing I knew, she was gone. :-(

From the dates in the articles, she was born a few years before me, but she always seemed so much younger -- I guess she always will be, now.
