Just a heads up...Orionid Meteor Shower this morning.

It's supposed to hit it's peak around 5am LDT (that's 5am wherever you are). I'm heading outside right now to go lay on my Jeep for a bit and hopefully, I'll see some cool stuff. I doubt I'll see anything as cool as the meteor I saw in Hawaii, that left a trail in the sky for several minutes, as it disappeared behind Molokini, but any meteor is pretty damn cool to me.

2. I went out for about 25 minutes before I started to lose feeling in my

extremities, but I saw five meteors. One left a decent trail. It's also not perfectly clear here tonight.

I wanted to give my son the name "Orion" for his middle name. When I was pregnant I'd let the dogs out before going to bed, and sit out on the back steps and admire Orion. I love seeing meteors.
Ray Taliaferro, a 1:00am-5:00am (PST) talk show host in S.F., is an astromomy enthusiast, and lets his audience know about interesting night sky events. His show is quite entertaining , if you ever feel like listening to it via the internet (we first learned about PNAC from him soon after 9/11).
