Tyson nears return to ring; thinks about fighting women
Tyson nears return to ring; thinks about fighting women

By CONNIE MABIN, Associated Press Writer
October 16, 2006

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- Mike Tyson said fans should not expect much of a fight when he steps back into the ring.

But the 40-year-old former heavyweight champ promised an entertaining show Friday night when he launches the "Mike Tyson's World Tour" in Youngstown.

At a news conference at an Italian restaurant, Tyson said he would likely go just four rounds and that future stops on the tour might include bouts with women, possibly professional boxer Ann Wolfe.

Wolfe, from Waco, Texas, is 21-1 with 15 knockouts.

"She's such a prominent, dominant woman in the boxing field," Tyson said.

When asked if he was joking about fighting women, Tyson said, "I'm very serious."

1. Let's hope Wolfe knocks him out cold.

3. Tyson ought to REALLY cross a line.
If he's so big and bad, he ought to make a leap past humans and bring back the spectacle of Man v. Beast.

A good tussle mano-a-mano with a bull, a water buffalo, or a leopard might bring him a little perspective.

Sadly, I'd predict viewership would be huge...:eyes:

5. I'd even watch it if it was on Pay Per View.
I can't stand Tyson. I wouldn't mind seeing him destroyed by another wild animal. Let's see him try to bite the ear off a leopard.

8. Bear Boxing? Wolfpack wrestling?
I'm opposed to animal-abuse, especially for spectacle, but that seems like it'd be closer to feeding the animals.

15. It's not a joke, but no state will sanction it, so it might as well be.
