ATTENTION: I have formed a plan. A scheme. A course of action.
Given my ex is out to screw me (sadly not literally), my life turned upside down, my emotions frayed and faith in humanity weakened, I've decided on the only appropriate action.

I shall go on a small adventure.

It begins with this:

...Or one much like it. A bigger motorcycle than I have ever ridden. I plan to buy it from a reputable person I've only known on the interwebs, and it is a good deal -- not a steal, which would be suspicious, but a good deal.

Today I exchanged my considerable writing skills for a weekend of trouble in Denver, some 6-7 hours away. I'm cleaning up a brochure for a friend who sells jerky, and he's letting me tag along to this food show thing he's doing in the first days of November. Plan B, I'll hang out with him and enjoy a weekend on the town -- he does quite well with the whole jerky thing -- and come back after four days, if not refreshed, likely recharged.

Plan A, I ride the bike back home. Over at least two Colorado mountain passes. Probably in some weather. On a (to me) monster of a bike. Solo.

Oh, and before I leave, see if I can squeeze my cash back out of an ungrateful 34-going-on-17-year-old insane woman. :D

I think I'm on the right track here. I now have a very good reason to convince her to cough up. If I can, the bike is virtually paid for. :bounce:

1. You shouldn't need a reason to get what you're owed.
The fact that she owes you should be enough. x(

I hope you have a great time. I hope we get to see some pictures of you having a blast on the new motorcycle.

5. I hear you
But now I can't accuse myself of trying to put the screws to her just to be nasty, or anything. (A) I loaned her the money, ergo it's mine and I want it back, and (B) I shall not make the mistake I made when my marriage ended with this long-term relationship breaking up:

Back then, I forgot to buy a motorcycle. :D

Note: It's a KTM 640 Adventure.

4. Dude
It took you this long to realize what you need is a new bike? I could've told you that weeks ago.

10. Nah, this is how men deal with emotional shit.
Everytime somebody in our family dies, there's a new bike in our garage. It's the only way I can tell my Dad is upset.

13. I come from a bike-free background.
Bike-free and television-sports free. It was good, but maybe the pursuit of such men is why my life is so, well, man-free.

12. Boodin', boodin'!!!
I used to have a Harley Davidson tricycle when I was little. I sat on it with my helmet on and said that for hours on end. Boodin', boodin'!!! I don't think I did much actual driving the thing, but I sure enjoyed listening to "Born To Be Wild" and playing "motorcycle." Later, I finally got to ride on a real motorcycle, although it was not a Harley. It didn't take long before the driver went over a tiny little hill. It was like a scene from "Roadrunner." I was Wile E. Coyote. When the bike went up, I did too. Only the bike and driver went back down oh so gracefully as one. I stayed in the air long enough to make a placard that would have read "Oh Sh!$%$#t." Next thing you know I was aiming at the ground head first. I could have sworn I heard that airplane diving free fall sound as I landed. I ended up bleeding all over the place and getting stitches over my eyebrow. That was the first of many times I bumped my head a little too hard. The brain damage wasn't too extensive, I don't think, but then again I don't think, so how would I know? :P
