Two Towers added scenes. Your thoughts. SPOILERS!!!!!!!
Just watched the Two Towers, long version and wondered what others thought of the new scenes? Mst of them definitely keep it closer to the book, such as the forest of Fangorn showing up at Helm's deep (although in the book I'm pretty sure the trees saved the day and not Gandalf). I was even surprised to see them have Merry and Pippin grow taller after drinking the entwater. Overall I thought they were good additions. wht you think?

2. It was wonderful with the added scenes.
It explains so much of the story, like how several hundred more men (?) could make a difference in defeating the Uruk Hai. I loved how Merry and Pippin worked so hard to bring the Ents into the war, and that they were rewarded with some good food and pipe weed and ale for their trouble.

There were several other scenes that helped the story overall, but i can't recall them here. We might watch it again tonight.

I think the scenes should have been left in, and an intermission added to the movie. I can't wait to see the director's cut of ROTK. It will be much longer, from what I've heard.

3. Actually...

"There suddenly upon the ridge appeared a rider, clad in white, shining in the rising sun. Over the low hills the horns were sounding.
Behind him hastening down the long slopes, were a thousand men on foot; their swords were in their hands. Amid them strode a man tall and strong. His shield was red. As he came to the valley's brink, he set to his lips a great black horn and blew a ringing blast.

The hosts of Isengard roared, swaying this way and that, turning from fear to fear. Again the horn sounded from the tower. Down through the breach of the Dike charged the king's company. Down from the hills leaped Erkenbrand, lord of Westfold. Down leaped Shadowfax, like a deer that runs surefooted in the mountains. The White Rider was upon them, and the terror of his coming filled the enemy with madness. The wild men fell on their faces before him. The Orcs reeled and screamed and cast aside both sword and spear. Like a black smoke driven by a mounting wind they fled. Wailing they passed under the waiting shadow of the trees; and from that shadow none ever came again"

4. thanks atreides1
I wasn't sure about that and hadn't rechecked the book ( for in so doing would have been doomed to read it again).

That was pretty cool I thought, when the orcs fled into the forest and then suddenly the trees just start moving and groaning with anger. worth the price right there
