BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- A Brunswick County assistant principal is facing criminal charges after a stay at an Atlantic Beach hotel.
Greg Morris is an assistant principal at North Brunswick High School. He was arrested Sunday night in Carteret County, charged with indecent exposure and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
According to an Atlantic Beach Police Department press release a security guard called police after they got a complaint of Morris standing naked on a hotel room balcony touching himself inappropriately.
When police arrested Morris they also found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Morris bonded out of the Carteret County jail Sunday night after a $1,000 bond. He is suspended with pay pending an internal investigation.
Morris has worked as an educator in Brunswick County for six years. This past summer he got a promotion to assistant principal at North Brunswick High School. Before taking a year off to get a degree in administration he was an elementary school teacher.
According to the Brunswick County Board of Education chairman, Morris was taking part in the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals Fall Leadership conference at Atlantic Beach.
