1. It's a sign of people who don't think before they speak.

Figure out what you're going to say, and then say it!

2. I used to say "you know" all the time...

It drove my mother insane! She would stop me, and scream, "Yes, I do know, now stop it!!" It was a phase I went through while living in California. And, I used to always ask, "You know what I mean?" Still, in my 40's, I can revert to sounding like a "valley girl," and I hate it as much as the next person. By the way, talking like that doesn't go over too well in Texas!
