John Winston Lennon was born on October 9th 1940, during one of the worst bombing raids on the port city of Liverpool during World War II.

Born into a war, he cried out for peace (and rock-n-roll). He is sorely missed but gave us many lines of wit, wisdom and spiritual aspiration. Please share your favorites.
