1. depends on the person and the question

some people if they do not reply to the email when they get it, they are never going to get back to it (that would be me, bob) because they get and reply to many emails every day and if they stop and think that backburner just gets backburnier

but some people might only log into their email account once or twice a week so they might not reply for quite some time

i notice it's quite person dependent

if you don't know the person well enough to know the answer to the question, and you need an immediate answer, we still have telephones/voicemails
