My next poetry assignment.....
The Green Divide...

Rhododendron towering, laden with blossom,
providing primeval cover,
meeting lush, green, unearthly carpet.
Fortunate eyes shielded from bungalows skirting the outer edge,
stationed safely outside the wall of groomed foliage.

They walked inside, club in hand,
doing battle with one another,
Conspiring darkly of things outside the wall.
Once they stopped to laugh at the poor.
I stood transfixed.
