To my knowledge, OVA's are direct conversions of the manga, correct? I only really liked the first 2 volumes of the manga (again, the only manga I like), so the new OVAs don't hold much of a draw for me.

Although I will look up whichever episodes of the OVA have the converted Alucard-Anderson fight from Vol. 1.

11. My son and I love animation

We have some old Betty Boop cartoons, some of Miyazaki's films, Wallace and Gromit and a few others. I loved the old Spike and Mike Animation Festivals- I google them, but alas, they only have their "Sick and Twisted" Stuff online, and an 2001 Classic collection on DVD. Were you familiar with their festivals? I took an animation class in 1986, but it was only a start.
