CONFESS!!!!! What really really bad movie did you watch and actually like
Edited on Tue Dec-23-03 12:43 PM by LynneSin
I saw the movie "Swept Away" on HBO this past weekend (The version starring Madonna and directed by her husband Guy Ritchie). Outside the excessive hitting that was going on, I actually enjoyed the movie and I cried at the end of it. I was pleasantly suprised.

Go figure

What skeletons are in your closets when it comes to really bad movies that you like!!!

Edit Note: For some bizarre reason, if I find Glitter playing on HBO I have to watch it. It's like I'm compelled to sit through something that really wasn't that good, but entertains me nonetheless!

1. 2 movies....
1)Bring It On: Horrible movie about competetive cheerleading that I always watch when it is on.
2)Airborne: Horrible movie about a california surfer kid who moves to the midwest and bonds with kids over rollerblading.

WHAM! channel plays it about once a month and I'll actually watch it. I think the boyfriend (not the cheerleader ex, but the one she gets a crush on) is a real hottie!!!

3. "Xanadu"
Lord almighty, this movie is awful. Preposterous plot, horrible acting, cringe worthy moments (the animated sequence is a perfect example)

But, I LOVE this movie. I've seen it maybe 7 or 8 times. I also have the CD soundtrack (full of swell music)

Olivia Newton-John, ELO, the Tubes...what the hell more could anyone ask for?

I love this movie. When I die, I hope I go to a Xanadu-like planet. Nothing but 40s-era-Big-Band roller disco with beautiful women 24 hours a day.

9. Roadhouse....
Every frame brings something to giggle at, and repeated showing reveal new treasures...

My favorite part--bad guy Ben Gazzara tells his henchmen to go round up hero Patrick Swayze and "bring him here" WITHOUT MENTIONING THAT HE'S ABOUT 300 FEET AWAY IN AN ADJOINING HOUSE.

The henchmen leap into their pick-up truck and drive off. About 10 minutes running time later in the movie, they show up in Patrick Swayze's yard and say "We been looking everywhere for you." They then tell Swayze that Gazzara wants to see him, Swayze climbs into the truck and they all trundle off to see Ben Gazzara WITHOUT NOTICING THAT HE'S ABOUT 300 FEET AWAY IN AN ADJOINING HOUSE. Wonderfully, thanks to earlier scenes in this cellulite masterpiece, we KNOW that Swayze knows Gazzara's over there and vice versa!

Edited on Tue Dec-23-03 04:44 PM by LynneSin
were the henchmen suppose to swim across the river and then drag him back across the river once they got him???

But I agree - I love this cheesy movie!!!!

BTW: I liked the bar better when it was a hole in the wall hellhouse instead of the 90's discoteque that Swayze changed it into.

61. Word's to live by: From Dalton, the bouncer at the Double Deuce Saloon:
All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected. Two, take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

Take the biggest guy in the world, shatter his knee and he'll drop like a stone.

People who really want to have a good time won't come to a slaughterhouse. And we've got entirely too many troublemakers here. Too many 40-year-old adolescents, felons, power drinkers and trustees of modern chemistry.

If somebody gets in your face and calls you a cocksucker, I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk. Be nice. If he won't walk, walk him. But be nice. If you can't walk him, one of the others will help you, and you'll both be nice. I want you to remember that it's a job. It's nothing personal.

I want you to be nice until it's time to not be nice.

If only we could have Dalton for President instead of that idiot we have now

It's so freaking overacted that it's awesome!

You're some sort of big, fat, smart-bug, aren't you?

or

Shoot a nuke down a bug hole, you got a lot of dead bugs.

FYI....

I even bought a used copy for $8.

Worst. Movie. Ever. But, oh so much fun to watch so you can witness Elizabeth Berkeley's career implode right before your very eyes.

I'm a sucker for anything sci-fi though. Especially post-Armageddon stories.

I also liked Costner's "The Postman" for similar reasons.

What's really crazy is that I don't like Kevin Costner.
