2. My whole body is shaking already and it hasn't even gotten
here yet. There is a tornado warning already in that little red county down there on this map.

How can I finish my homework assignment in this state of mind? I hate strong winds. I can handle the rain and even snow, but wind scares the daylights out of me.

Thank you for your good vibes. I need all I can get right now.

5. I'll be taking a deep breath in and holding it for 5 seconds.
Then swallowing. My ears always popl when I do that, but it usually works. I'm gonna have to go now. BB7 is coming on and I want to see if Janelle gets smarter while we still have power. I dread going out in the morning to go to class. I have one fifty minute class in the morning. Hardly worth the gas...

I just hope the wind isn't strong here. They haven't delayed or cancelled school that I know of yet. I watched BB7 and now I am disappointed on top of being scared. Chicken George, I'll miss you.

And I stumped my toes (4 of them) on the fan in my room on the way back in here to post some more before I go to bed. Outch!

12. Thank you.
Right now, I am hearing a super eerie calm before the storm. I'm not cleaning up though. I'll blame it on Ernesto if anything happens. That is one rule I have made up about bad bad storms. Don't clean up before one. It's bad luck. Or at least in my mind it is.

13. Thank you. I'm feeling that calm before the storm kind
of anxiety right now. It got really really calm here about 30 minutes ago. I'm suspicious of this storm. It's one of those squeaker types. It'll squeak right under the "hurricane" status radars and still do damage and cause flooding.

I lived through the night and managed to get to school for calculus class this morning. Sorry I missed you last night.

So far, that class has turned out to be weird for me. The teacher has us using Excel and a program called Derive 5 for all of the questions in the book. He gave us an assignment that is still bugging me. I have trouble figuring out the right domain and range for the asintopes and other noncontinuous graphs. I did 6 out of ten of them so far and I think they are right, but the last ones involve folding boxes and finding the equation that represents one thing in reference to another. I will look them over later in the day today probably. It's not due until next Wednesday.

He hasn't taught us how to "do calculus" yet. From what some other students who have had him already for this class say, he will stay on Derive 5 and Excel all semester and doesn't actually teach how to do calculus. I don't know what to think of that yet.

40. I am doing fine now.
I do have a fear of storms, but it is worse when you don't know what to expect. I live in an area between Charlotte and the beach. It is an area that the Charlotte stations only cover when they feel like it. The beach stations, well of course, would have been hit worse than where I live. It's like having to watch a bunch of forecasts and guessing which one might apply to you or mixing them and not knowing what to expect. That was 90% of why I was so scared last night; not knowing what would affect my area.

Glad you are ok too. :hi:

It is even scarier when it hits land and then goes back out over the ocean again. That's when it builds back up.

Believe it or not, I freaked out over a few wind gusts mostly because I didn't know how much of it we were going to get. Luckily, there was no damage and we had only about 6 strong wind gusts here. Parts of the town next door (to the east) had some limbs down, but nothing big.
