Need a little help here from all you guys.
I want to buy a gift for a male co-worker. What would be a good inexpensive gift? I'm at a loss. He is in is 50s and an intellectual, also a musician.

I always love getting a gift certificate to a book store. Or a music store.

4. Ya know, I like those, but
I'm embarrased to give them. People know EXACTLY how much you spent.

13. Then get almost inappropriately generous, then you aren't
embarrassed. And it's still EASY. We love gift cards.

5. A book is always good.
A small penknife is also an appropriate gift, but make him pay you a penny, so you don't 'cut' the bands of friendship. :)

Wine is nearly always a nice gift. Provided he enjoys some drink now and then.

10. Gourmet coffees or teas
are always great gifts and inexpensive too. Many stores have tasty Holiday Chai blends this time of year.

11. Thank you all so much. You are giving me some great gift ideas.
Now I can't decide -- book, pen knife, wine, tea, etc. But you have given me some good suggestions.

14. for a musician-intellectual
tea and a book would be great. you could also get him a magazine subscription to the Nation, which is cheap and is the gift that keeps on giving.
