Are you prone to laughing at inappropriate times?

I am. There's something about somber occasions that cause me to want to laugh. Not all the time, but sometimes. I just find something funny about everyone being so serious.

QWhen I was young, and an altar boy, I would get in trouble for laughing during service.

I have laughed at funerals. Disrespectful? Maybe. But I can't help myself, sometimes, even though I damn near bite my lip off to keep from doing so.

How about you?

1. There's a reason it's called the church giggles
Laughing in the face of solemnity is pretty much the medium I work in.

2. My daughter gets in trouble at school all the time for laughing in church.
One time it was Ash Wednesday and the pastor said,"Let us Bless these Asses" instead of ashes. She had to be asked to leave. It happens. :hi:

3. When I saw Titanic in the theater....
and the ship's going down, and all the people are falling off, and that one guy falls off and bounces off the giant propeller, I DIED laughing ... and I was the only one in the crowded theater who did. So, yeah, that was a bit awkward.

10. i laughed out loud when i saw "Troy", truly the airplane of swords and
sandals movies. Also the redo of "Poseidon" poor Freddy Rodriguez, he fell down an elevator shaft, got impaled, then the elevator hurled down and crushed his already dead body and then just for fun a massive fireball shot down the same shaft, it was hilarious.

18. Hell, I got one better. When I saw Titanic in the theatre
some eight year old kid came wheeling around the walkway to run up the steps (stadium seating), wasn't looking, and ran right into the railing right in front of us.

My brother, dad, and I all laughed VERY loudly, and the parent got kinda angry.

When we had to pick my mom's casket, they were showing us this high end priced stuff, the one casket had a "waterproof" gurantee, and we cracked up saying, how is she going to be able to tell us it's leaking?

7. esp. in an existentialism class in college
the prof. could't figure out why I laughed so much. Come to think of it, I can't remember why, either. I think I just found the whole thing and the Prof, who wore a Wild Turkey belt buckle, hilarious.

17. I gave a speech once, in school, and used the word, diahrrea.
Once I said that, man it was all over. A classmate snickered, I started to laugh and couldn't stop laughing. I couldn't finish my speech and had to leave the room for several minutes, before I could compose myself.

9. I once laughed so hard at a wedding
with a childhood friend of mine we had to run out of the church. The bride never spoke to me again. I couldn't help it...the mother of the bride was trying to walk like a ballerina and knocked over a huge candelabra, causing a domino effect. To this date, I still laugh when I think about it.

12. Now THAT'S funny.
I almost laughed at my wedding. Had to bite my lip real hard and look away from my fiance. She knew me pretty well and shot me a look that knocked the laugh right out of me.

there are two scenes

One where the plane first hits turbulance, and someone flies up out of their seat and hits their had very very hard on the ceiling.

And then, after the crash, someone walks in front of the jet engine and gets sucked in.

21. Yep. My sister and I would laugh uncontrollably at church
when we were growing up. :P She'd write something stupid on the program, and I'd write something even stupider back, and we'd just crack up and couldn't stop laughing. Other times have included laughing my ASS off at my best friend's father teasing her about something inane.
